Program Overview

Embark on a journey of advanced research and innovation in the built environment through the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Architecture at Poornima University. The programme is designed to cultivate scholars and researchers capable of addressing contemporary architectural, urban, environmental, and technological challenges through rigorous academic inquiry and creative problem-solving.

The Ph.D. programme integrates theoretical research with practical applications across diverse domains such as Architectural Design, Sustainable Architecture, Urban Planning, Heritage Conservation, Housing Studies, Building Technology, Digital Architecture, Building Information Modelling (BIM), Artificial Intelligence in Design, and Smart Cities. Scholars are encouraged to explore emerging trends and develop innovative solutions that contribute to the advancement of architecture and the built environment.

Eligibility for Ph.D. admission: The Candidates are required to have a Master's degree or equivalent in a relevant field with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC non-creamy layer/Differently-abled candidates).

Admission procedure: For admission to the Ph.D. program, candidates are required to undergo an Entrance Test conducted at the University level. The Entrance Test syllabus shall consist of 50% research methodology and 50% subject-specific content. Students who have scored at least 50% marks in the entrance test are eligible to be called for an interview.

Duration: The Ph.D. program lasts at least three (3) years, which includes coursework. It can take up to a maximum of six (6) years from the date you start the Ph.D. program until you finish.
