The Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Development Goals at Poornima University is a dedicated institutional platform committed to advancing the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The 17 SDGs provide a comprehensive global framework to address pressing challenges such as poverty, inequality, quality education, climate action, inclusive growth, and strong institutions. Recognising the shared responsibility envisioned under the SDGs, the University actively contributes to these goals through education, research, innovation, and community engagement.

“Anchored in the philosophy ‘Your Dreams, Our Goal’” the Centre promotes a holistic and action-oriented approach to sustainability by integrating SDG perspectives across academics, governance, campus operations, and outreach initiatives. Special emphasis is placed on SDG 17, Partnerships for the Goals, fostering meaningful collaboration with government bodies, industry, civil society, and local communities to co-create solutions that are globally relevant and locally responsive.

Aligned with India’s national priorities such as Viksit Bharat @2047, Atmanirbhar Bharat, Swachh Bharat, and LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment), the Centre encourages interdisciplinary learning, scientific temper, and responsible innovation among students and faculty. Through collaborative research, capacity building, and sustainable campus practices, the Centre of Excellence serves as a catalyst for inclusive development, environmental stewardship, and ethical growth reinforcing Poornima University’s role as a socially responsible institution committed to national and global sustainability outcomes.
