Course work

  • Each PhD student shall be required to undertake coursework for a minimum period of one semester
  • The coursework shall be treated as pre-PhD preparation
  • A candidate must secure a minimum GPA of 5.5 in the PhD coursework to become eligible for PhD registration

Registration

  • After successful completion of coursework, the candidate shall submit a synopsis to the Research Advisory Committee (RAC)
  • After approval of the synopsis by competent authorities, a registration letter shall be issued by the Registrar

Submission of Thesis

  • After registration, the PhD scholar shall undertake research work and produce a draft thesis as per prescribed norms
  • The scholar shall submit a progress report to the Research Advisory Committee (RAC) after completion of each semester
  • The thesis shall include a certificate from the Supervisor confirming that the research is bonafide and has not been submitted for the award of any degree at any other university

Plagiarism Verification

If a candidate is found to have indulged in plagiarism, the matter shall be placed before the Advanced Study Research Committee, and the candidature for the PhD degree may be cancelled.

Eligibility

Master’s degree or a professional degree declared equivalent to the Master’s degree with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever the grading system is followed). 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, is allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/ OBC(non-creamy layer) / differently-abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the Commission from time to time. Candidates having a UGC-NET (including JRF)/UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF)/SLET/GATE/teacher fellowship holder, or M.Phil. degree are exempt from a PhD. Entrance test. Admissions shall be confirmed only upon qualifying for a PhD. Entrance test and subsequent interview.

If the employee quits the services, this benefit will be discontinued for the upcoming course duration
Self/ Spouse/ Sibling of Alumni of Poornima & JIET Group 25% of Tuition Fee This is applicable for all undergraduate and postgraduate & doctoral programs.To get this scholarship, valid Alumni documents such as Poornima Registration Number or marksheet must be submitted.
Eligibility: All faculty and staff who have joined/ who will join Poornima Group on or before December 31, 2025

Key Notes:

  • The scheme is applicable only if faculty/ staff members take admission in Doctoral program of Poornima University
  • The continuation of scheme for an individual is subject to performance review after every 6 months by office of Dean (Research & Development),PU
  • In case any faculty/ staff member leaves the organization (in any circumstances) during the tenure of PhD, the scholarship given under this scheme will be discontinued from the date of reliving
